Can I only use 2 of the 3 alternator bracket bolts?

My 900T alternator bracket (diamond shaped lower bracket) cracked at the left torx bolt, and that no longer supports the bracket. The upper bolt is a non-metric bolt that the PO installed and it has broken off just flush at the block (broken for who knows how long). It was no wonder my alternator belts were squealing. I have a salvage bracket.
So here is my question:
Can I use only 2 of the 3 bolts (left and lower), or will that spell certain doom? Getting that broken stud out is going to be a real PIA.
thanks,
~Junkie
