I'm with Chris on this one - leave the hood on. It's not anywhere near in the way enough to justify pulling it for a radiator replacement. The extra space you get from removing it doesn't help one iota - you're going to be working from the sides of the car anyway.
What may help is wedging a small screwdriver into the hinge of the hood to force it up more vertically - that nets some extra shoulder room which can come in handy.
Side note: Unless you have a jig or something to actually strap the hood to, the roof is THE safest place for it. Leaning it up against a wall is asking for a strong breeze to knock it down - I've seen it happen MANY times. Upside down, on the roof, there is nothing going to happen to it. Dozens of Saabs and hundreds of hood removals I've never had anything happen to a hood. I'm with oldsaab on this one.
