At some point in time, all 900s need to have their bushings replaced. Shock bushings, control arm bushings, rear axle bushings all wear out eventually. I've changed pretty much all of them at one time or another, and on one car or another.
Also, don't forget that turbos always had a stiffer suspension than the non-turbos.
There are some basic differences in the setups on your three cars. The '90 and the '93 should be very close in handling, as the only difference there would be the tires (and, of course, the motor). They both have anti-roll bars, and ventilated front brakes. The '79 has neither of those, and (assuming it is still stock) has heavier front suspension parts, and the heavier "B" engine. The 79 may also be riding on narrower tires.
As for what one other poster mentioned about polyurethane bushings: I was told by SAS that one should use poly bushings on only ONE end of the shocks. I agree with this. For front shocks, use poly on the bottom, but get the OEM bushings for the tops. That's the best combo.
