It attaches to the pump and to another connector "nipple"/tube in the tank. I just removed one two days ago (pump) hose was intact and attached to upper half of pump housinf by way of a squeeze type clamp and inside the tank to the right as viewed from the rear of the trunk access it was attached with the same type clamp. see if you can reach in and up about two-3 inches from the tank top you might be able to feel the clamp and know where the tube goes. I just 2 hours ago boxed up the pump and hose to send to a fellow poster in Altoona Pa. Anyway to reinstall the hos camp the tank side first then cut the hose so it's long enough to attach it to the pump housing and still rotate the pump back in . Don't for get to attach that crazy electrical plug in that is in the inside of the tank , but I'm sure if you got the pump out you know what I mean. besure to keep the battery disconnected untill all is in place again. Good luck. I hope this helped. Frank
