Usually, hard starting points to ignition problems or lack of fuel. If the fuel filter is clogged then lack of fuel would be all or part of the problem. The plugs, wires, and distributor cap/rotor should be checked along with the timing.
I think bobc has a good idea to have the indy look at it for you.
Must be a battery drain -- check the little light in the trunk upper left side. It could be on and you wouldn't know it. There is a switch on it -- flip it back and forth to find the correct position. Good luck!!!
