oil leaking from back end?

In the last couple of weeks, I'm seeing what looks like (on the ground) a slight oil leak that seems like it lines up with the center of the rear axle of my 1993 900TC. I'm not having any performance problems related to it (that I'm aware of) but its obviously something I need to take care of. In all my 22 years with Saab 900TC's, I've never encountered a problem like this. Any ideas, or where to head me in the right direction? TIA
