...and I do mean MAY (meaning not more than a 50% chance of success...)be able to swap the bits between the seats. The tracks on the seat base bolt to the seats. The tracks, IIRC, carry all of the actual mounting adjustments. So, assuming the studs line up, you MAY be able to put the 1978 seats on the tracks of the 1985 seats (not sure why you want to go in that direction, but...), and into the 1985 chassis.
I've never had to do this, so it's mostly speculation. But since we know the 1985 seat tracks will fit in the 1985 car, if the rest of the seat can be moved, it should work. Now, you may encounter other issues, like the seat being too tall, not being able to adjust it quite the same way, etc.
As for the back seat, I'll have to say no. The seatback latching is completely different, and the hinging and mounting for the seat bottom is also completely different.
