Here's the story.

A 1990 900 is for sale locally with 109K. I admit I only asked where I could see the car, I try not to eliminate anything without at least looking. Unfortunately it has an automatic transmission, not to bash but I am always looking for spare 5 speeds. Other than being BADLY rusted the car has very nice leather, good glass, lights, tires, decent wheels and battery. He has replaced the alternator and put on a new Saab exhaust in the last year. It starts easy, AC works and so on.

The hood and hatch are salvageable but the doors and the rest of the body has rust. I think he said it came from norther Ohio. The passenger side control arm has pulled away from the body do to rust. To the point it has damaged the steering rack.

So why do I still want to buy this car?

The owner is firm at $350, at least for the duration of the ad. I told him to call me if it doesn't sell and I'll give him $200. Winter is coming and I don't feel like stripping a car in the cold but on the other hand?
