This April I purchased a classic 1971/750 BMW motor cycle. A friend of mine planted the seed in my head by offering his to me for sale. He brought a use BMW police model with more CC's and newer year. It still has the opposed cylinders. Looked on EBay the same night and someone had just listed a customized, one owner 71. Contacted the person and asked if he could just sell it out right, since I know it was too nice the sell to just anyone. He was selling for a friend, who's husband had owned it since new and had died from cancer three years ago. BOY! was she happy to see me purchased her husbands bike, knowing he would had wanted me to have it. Took the 71 BMW bike to a car/motor cycle show this pasted weekend and won a trophy for the bike. I decided to send it to her with much thank's along with a $200.00 check. Well enough of this story. What I found out with the (AIRHEAD) BMW club was that their members have a phone book listing of BMW owners nation wide that if your ever broken down while away from home, you can look in the BMW owners directory for road side assistance. Shouldn't our members (Saabnet) have a book like this?????
