Thanks Vern, the transmissions in questions are from an 82 & 83 5 speed 900s. The tooth count from the 82 gives me a better ratio top 31 teeth and bottom 26 teeth on the 83 vs top 32 and bottom 25 for the 82 sprockets. So I am planning to swap them out. Currently the 83 transmission is in 74, 99 and I guess because of the lightness of the car first gear is almost useless because it winds out so quickly.
