The car is probably worth $2,000 to most. It might be worth $3,000 to two or three people out there...the ones that are currently saying to themselves...boy - I sure hope a red 900T comes up that's been rebuilt for performance...

And their might be 1 person out there who's considering doing exactly what you've had done, has already had it quoted, and finds your car for less than he can have his car rebuilt.

Most buyers won't give you much credit for upgrades, especially performance upgrades. Those tend not to be investments with a return, they're just expenses to be enjoyed by the person who valued them enough to buy them - and then forgotten about when the car is sold.

The universe of people who want a classic 900T with 166,000 miles that needs paint and interior work is small. Very small. And mostly an enthusiastic bunch with great information at hand.

If you have a lot of time and patience - put it up for sale for your price and see if you get lucky. And be patient - you'll get a lot of responses from people telling you you're nuts for pricing it wherever you price it.

But my opinion - $2,000 - $2,500 as a need-nothing-drive-it-home car with good tires, good brakes, good clutch.
