Nice looking sedan, from the pictures anyway. Consider having a Saab indy look it over. They can carefully look it over on a lift.
Rust: Look at the right front lower control arm area. Rust often forms there. Also, the bottom of the doors are prone to rust issues, and the wheel arches can have rust too.
Headgasket: The coolant should have no oily residue, and there should be no bubbles coming out of the coolant returning to the expansion tank. You could even go as far as pulling the plugs and checking the compression... I usually just look at the coolant unless there are other trouble signs that the car has been poorly cared for.
Transmission: The normally aspirated (NA) cars like this one are easier on the transmission, BUT I have seen some NA transmissions abused by folks who have chipped the reverse idler gear by ramming it into reverse before the intermediate shaft had stopped. Sometimes this can be heard as a "tick-tick-tick" that goes away when the clutch is depressed.
Anti-lock: I would find a deserted straight road and slam on the brakes hard enough to activate the anti-lock system. Occasionally the system goes bad, and one wheel gets no brake assist and the car swerves dangerously to a side.
Those are the big expensive items that I can think of for the moment. There a lot true experts that will likely have more to say.
Good luck! These are terrific cars to drive. I drive my '93 sedan 60-70 miles everyday.
