I need some advice on a continious leak / seeping from a recently replaced diff. gasket that was purchased at the Saab dealer. The advice I received from a number of mechanics at the dealer was to only use the gasket with no additional sealant. The consensus was that as long as you carefully clean both the housing and cover (which I did throughly), and tighten the bolts down properly (certain torque???) you should be good to go. I also had the selector shaft seal replaced professionally and after checking repeatedly I am confident that no oil is leaking from there.
Anyway, I am now getting seeepage from the pass. side and from under the right driver where it connects to the trans. Could the gasket be bad...have they changed gasket composition...??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
