Ulness the car you are looking at is rare, or it is the one style, with all of the options you must have, I would move on. I have passed up several C900s awaiting the right one. Many had red flags. I don't like red flags, and there seems to me to be several in your case:
1) changing carfax. Some logical explanation? Seems fishy to me.
2) "some damage"- could it be more?
3) A broker listed as a private seller. An honest mistake? maybe
4) Listed under NADA (unless all models like this are $4 large lower due to the economy). Implies they got it cheap too for some reason.
I would ask for my deposit back, or cancel the check.
Others may have more reasonable explanations for the red flags, but barring some huge "ah-ha" moment to most of the above, I would walk. All of this is just my opion of course, and I am no expert in purchasing cars, so take it for what it is worth: $0.02.
