I'm definitely outta my league here, but evidently so was the Indy shop that didn't want to mess with me and my car. I can see why, since we could have easily toted up a bill in the $1000s --assuming he could even find the replacement main hydraulics assemblies, since SAAB lists them now as "NLA"-- and in the end still not have completely, satisfactorily fixed everything, with the customer (me) bitching and pressing for the guaranteed repairs to work correctly.

The reason I think that bomb may not be the issue is because the ABS pumps only runs a few (3-5) seconds before the pressure sensor cuts voltage to the pump relay. I'm looking to find a known-good bomb to further localize the fault, but don't want to buy a third bomb until I know for sure that the problem lies there.

Again, I'm prioritizing the brake boost issue and will deal with ABS antilock function after I get my car driveable again. But I did notice that with both the original and the replace ECUs --ABS light permanently on in both cases-- there was zero voltage to the ABS relay (not the pump relay!), which I'm quite sure is OK, as of course are all the ABS fuses. This may be normal, however, when the ABS warning light is on and stays on,
