Check the condition of the screen seal. Easiest to check this since it's right behind it. Another poster stated that there's also a seal behind the valve body assembaly that goes bad. When these go bad, fluid can't be pumped without introducing air into the system. Who knows what the last re-builder did or if they were compatant enough to rebuild these unit. I get alot of flack from some on this site by suggesting "Lucas" brand automatic transmission conditioner, but the stuff has worked greatly for both of my 900 auto boxes with over 180K. I use one bottle at every complete trans. fluid change with type "F". The only thing is, I didn't wait until thing got really bad, just minor slippage. Trying these few things won't cost too much money and just might work. If the trans. is shot, the fluid usually smells brunt. Very very cold weather can make the seals stick! Good Luck, Saabnutt!
