Only had a problem once with using a K.A.E brand VR. It left me stranded at a toll booth and I had to get a toll. Since the tow (AAA) was only good for 30 mile, I had to shell out $130 to get to the closest friends house. Figured it to be the regulator and removed it. Turned out to be a bush spring had broken. Cheaper make/quality. All the other K.A.E brand usage haven't given any problems with service. Two Volvo's, Three Saab's. Probably a manufacturing fault. I also up-graded my AAA for longer tow miles. A know name brand doesn't say that their made in country of origin. Give a replaced VR time to set into the contour of the armature. I always bevel the outside edge of the bushes 1/16" to allow the bushes to set flat against the armature because of old bush wear.
