While doing axle/driver/CV joint/tripod bearing/boot/etc replace/rebuild on my 1991 900S, I discovered a little more rust at the right front lower control arm (a-arm) mount than I had suspected. I removed the lower control arm for a closer inspection. After doing some research I found that this appears to be a rust-prone area in our C900's. Some have classified this as a design flaw due to water being trapped and not allowed to drain because the drain hole(s) becomes clogged with debris. I have a heliarc welder and a fair amount of experience using it. I ordered the frame repair kit (frame rail) from Auto Rust Technicians in Cranston, Rhode Island, at a very reasonable price. I received it yesterday, and have not welded it in yet, but I inspected it and placed it in position and I can say that it fits like a glove, and is a precisely manufactured part. I spoke with the owner on the phone before I purchased the kit and was told that it was manufactured under very close specifications by computer, and I believe it. The work involved in making this repair without this two-piece kit would be very time consuming and considerably complicated. In short, I am not employed or associated with this company in any way, but it certainly appears to be the answer to this problem. I'll let you know if I have any trouble withy installation (welding) of the kit.
