Oil pump is experiencing jealousy! Try loosening the belts you just put on to see if the pulley/seal will ride center. Just messing around that area with the original seal can cause an imbalance. Remember to not overtighten the HB when it's replaced, as it doesn't take much to pull on the rubber between the pulley. My friends 88/9000s HB pulley was ruined after he replaced the serpentine belt and thought the alternator went bad afterwards. He brought a new alternator and we then found that he overtighten (manual tensional) serpentine belt and ruined the HB pulley by over-tightening. If by chance the HB pulley did rub a hole into the oil pump housing, just JB-Weld the hole after washing with acetone solvent. How many mile are on the original seals?
