My front badge too had gone from colour to dull grey. but how to bring the colour back? (sounds like an ad for hair gel)
First I found a few websites with jpegs/bmps of various SAAB logos, and located the one that matched the one on the front badge - you'd be amazed how many different styles are "out there".
Then I copied the file (no doubt violating some copyright law) and printed it out on glossy paper getting the scale just right. Then using a mylar plastic with adhesive on one side to act as a moisture proof barrier I glued it carefully on the front badge (didn't try the back). It fit perfectly.
It lasted about a year and looked pretty good until winter weather took its toll.
My guess is if you could find the right material eg decal type stuff with waterproof ink you would get something longer lasting.
