I would guess that you have the ground somehow attached to the turn signal hot lead. Consider looking very closely of the light board to see if there is a stray wire strand, or perhaps you got it wrong. happens sometimes. also, get a volt meter, disconnect the newly installed ground wire, put the signal on, and check voltage from the place where you *had* the new ground wire to chassis ground. put the black(negative or ground) lead on the car body and the Red(positive or signal) on the light board PCB.
