I'm not sure what you mean by aluminum tip.
The OEM exhaust has a flared end--shaped like an oval. You have to cut that part off back to the point where the pipe is round. Then you put the tip on and mark where the exhaust hanger hits. You need to cut a channel in the new tip for the exhaust hanger to slide into (unless you want your tip sticking way out). Once you get it situated where you want it, Use a large stainless hose clamp to keep it on.
If you'd rather cut the exhaust hanger off and replace it; cut a few kerfs in the flange on the tip (so it will tighten around the exhaust when you clamp it), and pinch a new exhaust hanger between the flange on the tip and the stainless clamp. You can make the exhaust hanger out of flat stock.
If you have access to a welder; cut the exhaust hanger off, weld on the exhaust tip, weld the hanger back on.
You can also use screws through the tip into the pipe to mount it instead of the clamp, but they may losen over time.
