I have a 900 - 94 vert w a naturally aspired 2.0. 167k miles
I'm in the start stage of a tranny auto to manual conversion (engine is out) I have the manual tranny from a 91 turbo(90k miles) and it looks like it will bolt right on. The engine on the 91 was blown when Pep b forgot to put the drain plug in and owner drove off with no oil./
Now, here is the question - I saw an '87 2.0 turbo Engine for sale, supposedly only 30k miles. Is it reasonable to put the 87 turbo engine in the 94?? Is the tranny going to bolt on with no problems?
Should I just be satisfied with what I have? The NA engine runs fine but it does have 167k miles on it. Of course the '87 turbo has been stored for many years, so what could happen from that?
