If you know what to look for, it is enough room by the seat platform to move the seat cushion (push it inwards) and grab the sleeve and wire with a needle nose pliers and pull it out of the gear box, run the motor until even and shove the sleeve and wire back into the gear box.
It is tricky but works if in a pinch. I always line up the back rest before replacing the tubes so I don't have to use that method.
