ummmm mostly agree, however you can make a faux one with the proper or even upgraded parts and be perfectly happy with the results. many are using Koni or Bilstein shocks which are superior to the stock ones, many are putting in B&G or other brand springs. Many are putting in stage one or better APC boxes, and the SPGs had a progression of APCs that went from 5 extra HP to 10 or more and then the Commemorative went the most with the Saab RED BOX to 185 with the FPR of 2.8 bar. All of the above are superior to the stock SPG. The only item left would be the body cladding. Also, you can upgrade your front brakes on 88 and newer using the 9000 rotors, calipers and pads as a direct bolt on with only minor backing plate cuts to clear the larger bits, and it fits the stock wheels too.
Of course if you are talking about a "real" SPG that's different. I have both a 1988 and a 1987 SPG and am gutting the 1987 to make a second (actually fourth but 2nd to currently run) Lemons car. Need any SPG stuff?
