PB blaster might just make the situation worse. With that, you probably removed whatever lubrication was still on it. Get some white lithium grease in an aerosol can and spray the b'jeezus out of it. There is an upper u-joint that you can lubricate as well. Also check the pinch bolt where the upper and lower parts of the steering column come together. If that is loose, steering can be clunky. You'll probably need to remove the knee bolster to get best access to it. You can also lubricate the upper and lower bearings on the steering column (if they haven't totally failed). BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE AIRBAG if your car has one.
