there are some indies that would pay a little less than that amount for stuff that is *really* difficult to get, provided you give a parts warranty. The make or break point is when the part costs more than the car needing that part... then *that* car gets turned into a parts car...

I think it is conceivable that other inexpensive cars, uncertainty of Saab's future (used to convince someone to move from a Saab - you and I know that we are working on two generations ago cars so where's the beef?), government programs to move older cars out, desired features of newer cars, some repairs getting to the decision point as above with the cost of the replacement part vs the value of the car (perceived or otherwise), and other intangible reasons, will create *more* parts cars (either someone selling parts off their car or the car is at the junke yarde) and help the rest of us keep our c900s running... maybe?

was that a run-on sentence or what....
