Sam,
Buying a Haynes manual or better yet, a factory repair manual and some basic tools will let you do 99% of the work yourself on this car. If you are somewhat practical and willing to learn, you can save so much money and pick up a skill in the process. SAAB specialty shops that have been around for a while are good at what they do and charge top dollar for it. These cars may seem incredibly complex at first glance, but when you get into it you realize that theyre not that intimidating.
I had not even pulled the plugs on my C900 two years ago, yesterday I DIY'ed the worst of all C900 repairs, the dreaded heater control valve replacement. Resources like this abound on the net, to help us who like to work on our own cars. Good luck to you Sir!
