Another option is a pair of $100 Sparco (etc.) mounts and just about any "racing seat" you care to buy. I think $200 in mounts and $600-$800 in Corbeau seats is about the best you can possibly do.
If folks could agree on some seat they'd like in a c900, I'd foot the bill to fabricate some mounting adapters. I looked strongly at Hyundai Tiburon and Toyota Celica seats - they are the right size, very comfortable, and they flip FAR forward. Being OEM/factory seats I'm sure they're both durable and safe. Only limitation is colors. I'm fairly sure the mounting would be painless, and the "adapter" needed would give the seats a boost in height to make them similar in seating position.
Any recent production seat would be an option - I'm really looking for something that would easily & cheaply sourced. I ultimately don't care if it's a BMW or a Kia so long as it's grippy and comfortable. :)
