Release Bearing noise Posted by Bob_SAAB_101 [Email] (#460) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bob_SAAB_101) on Thu, 20 Aug 2009 04:49:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just changed the clutch and the release bearing (new) is making a noise while at rest as it rubs against the fingers of the pressure plate.
I seems as if the bearing doesn't retract enough to disingage fully. The slightest pressure from the clutch engages the bearing fully and stops the noise.
This is from the conversion of my 94 vert from automatic.
Is the release bearing supposed to be fully engaged at all times?
Is it supposed to fully retract away from the fingers?
I rebuilt the aluminum slave and get great clutch action. I used an new pressure plate.
Any ideas on this one? I don't see this in my searches.
