use the ratchet cinch type straps that are used for boat tie downs.
They have hooks on either end and use a ratchet to tighten the strap - its infinitely adjustable - depending on length either one or two will do.
There are tow places to hook them - at the front you have to reach up and there is bracket where the strap is attached to - put one hook there cross over under the tank and then go back and around the bracket and then to the other end. raise the tank slightly to get the strap fully tightened. then tighten as much as you can using the ratchet - cut off the excess strap if necessary.
as good as or better than the original
alternative is to use the heavy duty rubber black bungees but these are harder to install.
