The machine shop which did the work on head recommended doing the valves as a matter of course, when I first brought it and be for ethey had looked at it. The previous owner said the car was 'running well' before the overheating episode so I demurred, hoping to save a buck. Then he said 'We'll take a look at them and let you know'. So I asssumed they did and when I picked up the head nothing more said. I guess I should have investigated it myself, tho I'm no expert. A bad as they must be, I probably could have seen something.
I've searched the board here and have not see any info on an overheating-damaged valve problem. ONe post mentioned valve stem seals being subject to heat damage, but with my lack of compression the valves themselves
have to be the problem. I think.
