Keep it black unless you are painting EVERYTHING, including under-hood, door jambs, etc. Nothing worse than a car with a color change that wasn't complete IMHO. If you are doing a complete color change, go LeMans Blue. Hot! :-D
If you want to do 2-tone, I'd keep the second color to the lower fairings, don't do a color change at the belt line like the car you pictured. That might look OK on a base model, not sure it would look good on an SPG.
I don't like cars with a lot of bold stripes and graphics myself--especially Saabs. If you want to go that route, consider maybe doing the traditional Saab rally graphics in very transparent metallic colors. So you can only see them up close. I've always liked that technique on hot rods when they paint almost transparent purple flames on a black car--very subtle, very cool.
I've been considering possibly a color change on my daily driver's panels just to change things up a bit. I was thinking maybe Saab silver metallic to highlight the panels. Here's a photochop I did of my car just to see if I'd like it.
