Sudden clutch slave river beneath......

Folks,
My 90 900S was in the garage getting the infamous heater control valve replaced. Directly after that fun experience (with much wrestling about the clutch/brake pedals) I prepare to start her up, and my clutch pedal goes to the floor limp. Inspect and find a small river of DOT4 running across the garage floor.
I replaced the complete clutch kit including slave probably not more than 2 years ago.....pretty sure the slave was a Scantech but can't swear. This sudden hemorrhage of fluid has me quite confused! No changes in clutch pedal height, release point, etc, and suddenly she's draining across the floor? Well I used the oil can & hose method to pump bleed back to the reservoir, and she's back running again. Was still dripping ever so slightly to work but I drove her the 10 miles to work and the leak appears to have sealed up as I've got no dripping now.
Anyone seen similar? I'm getting ready to give my trusty old 90 S to my son, so I'd like to know if others have had these sudden leakages from the slaves. My #2 son also drives a 89 Turbo and recently had the same event.....leakage to the point of failure and then bleeding the system resolved/stopped the leak.
thanks.
