The cooler could be repaired too -- it is aluminum, so if it was damaged in a spot that is repairable, heliarc welding could be used. They are expensive if you buy one new, but there are lots of used ones out there.
I put one on the back of an intercooler fan, and abandoned the one down low.
One of the difficult things is to separate the line set from the cooler itself. The fittings are steel, and the cooler ports are aluminum, so galvanic corrosion welds them together. They can be a bear to get off without destroying the fitting or the cooler port. We welded new AN fittings on top of a cooler so the proprietary linesets could be abandoned. In other words, there are lots of ways to skin the cat.
