Check the small wire going to the starter from the ignition. When the metal housing of the starter get cold the solenoid piston can be slow to move and the internal contacts don't touch. Rust also accumulate around this piston. Old starter syndrome/ Might want to remove the small wire and clean the contact area. Battery light could be the voltage regulator is old or just cold and not switching. Electrical components do suffer when it's cold/colder outside. Try cleaning the alternator wire,also.
