and my solution is to rip off what is left of the boot and pack the connectors with silicone dielectric grease, easily found in little pouches at your FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store).
My theory on the replacement boots is that they are a hassle to install because they involve cutting your old connector, stripping the wires, and crimping new connectors. And the replacement boot will rot where it was stretched, just the same as the original because it is not an accordion-style boot.
A number of manufacturers, including Nissan, have used grease in their connectors to prevent corrosion. I've done this for years with no problem.
