fuel usage is directly effected Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: crappy gas mileage, derek900, Sat, 26 Dec 2009 12:37:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
by the speed of the car, and the change of the 2.0,2.5 or 3.0 bar. fuel regulator,
moving from the 3.0 down to the 2.0 the fuel will be restricted leaning out the fuel air mix sent into your motor, in turn saving gas mileage, moving from a 2.0 to a 3.0 increases hp. but in-turn sends more fuel to the motor.
same as in the fuel injectors, however if the 2.0 bar is installed and the 30lb injectors installed, fuel would be restricted by the regulator causing the 30lb to preform the same as a stock injector. with the change to the 3.0 the fuel would be unrestricted allowing your foot to decide just how much fuel the motor gets.
but at this point gas mileage goes right out the window.
i moved from the 30lb & 3.0 (about 175-200 miles a tank)to the stock injectors with the 3.0 (250-300 miles a tank)to try and get a little more for the buck.
a tip moving to the stock injectors with the 2.0 fuel regulator will give 330-400 a tank however the power of the motor goes right out the motor,
doing this leans out the fuel air mix so much the motor will run very hot if the car is driven aggressively, i found no problem with the 2.0 and stock injectors if the car was driven smooth and maintained cruise control when ever possible.
as for the fuel pump its job it to keep up, as in have the fuel at the regulator when needed.
