If one side is lagging the hydraulic ram may be leaking. on the 93 you just lift the bottom of the rear seat up, it clips in or out (early models had four bolts). look at the electric motor/pump/resivor unit to see that it has fluid in it, do not fill to the top as it needs room to recover fluid from the rams. Hex plug on the top to open to fill. if you do have to fill look closely at both rams that move the top up and down and at the area below them all the way to the floor. if there is sticky wet like residue it has been leaking, check side to side for differences. If you had to add fluid, you don't have to do the Saab procedure to bleed it, it will actually do it as you run the system. The only other problem I've seen with these is that the brushes on the motor wear out similar to the VR in the alternator, this can be a DIY repair. ((you can separate the motor from the pump for repair without draining fluid or leaking any either)) But if the motor is turning then it's most likely not brushes. Caution, do not run without fluid in the unit as it may hurt the pump portion, as in it will seize. If you have any more questions let me know, I've repaired too many of them and still have three in the fleet.
