do your self and your Saab a favor.
Have the shop do it and save yourself the head ache.
They shall not need to remove the whole engine. With the car on the lift they can very easily work underneath. they can loosen the power steering rack mounts, slide it out of the way a bit. remove the outer crankshaft pulley (for Air Conditioner belt) and be able to get a wrench and socket in there to crack the pulley bolt loose (28mm?) This is prob the trickiest part.
Get some new belts while they have the whole thing off too. should be no extra labor charge for that, just the cost of the belts. have em check the end-play on that water pump pulley too. might be good time to replace that if its starting to wear.
And remember, you can always ask your mechanic to show you if something is wrong. If they are good they should gladly show you and explain.
