sarah,
Of course your CV boots shouldn't be leaking at all but to replace them entails pulling the axle out and that's no small job. When they leak grease that's because they are torn and the real problem is that water and dirt will go in where the grease is coming out and that will wear out your CV joint quickly. If the oil return pipe is leaking that's not so much of a turbo problem as it is an engine oil problem, it's essentially an engine oil leak and if your engine runs low on oil the things farthest from the oil pump are damaged first; the valve train (cams, lifters, etc.) and as fate would have it, the turbocharger. That leak is really pretty easy to fix (for a Saab mechanic). Your 900 engine will run almost forever as long as two things don't happen; it doesn't run low on oil or have to run on spent oil (so change it every 3000 miles), and it doesn't overheat, so be sure that the cooling fans are working and the anti-freeze and cooling system are in good condition.
