I'm in the process of replacing the head gasket on my 1987 900T. In the Townsend Imports instructions (link attached) it says: "If it is a flat cadmium colored 27mm bolt you have the old design. You need to update this part. get part number 7585086..."
That's exactly what I have and am wondering if this step is necessary or just a good idea. The car has 165k miles on it (still a baby I know) but I'm trying to keep my expenses as low as possible.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Scott
