I have a question. My 1993 900S has only 115000km on it, Over the last year it seems to me guzzling oil at a rate about one liter a month. On cold start the engine seems to burn a little- smoke, the engine seems to run rough, sometimes there is a puff of smoke on probably every 10 starts. I had all the fluids changed new plugs and leads and the timing checked. I was told the air mass meter was done. Well, I ordered a new air mass meter from California and replaced it. By the way I tested the old one as Bentley told me to. They both actually glow like they should after turning off the ignition.I will see in the morn if this changed meter helps. The saab indy told me that was the problem. I doubt it. I have come up with the conclusion that it is one or more of the piston rings, either worn or broken. Does this sound right for such a low mileage car? Any input would be greatly appreciated. This problem seems to stop after the engine reaches normal operating temp, Again, I am losing a lot of oil and I don't see spots on the driveway.
