Open the hood, go to the passenger side and shine a flashlight down on the skidplate. See if it looks like the Exxon Valdez took a pee....that would be the slave cylinder leaking if it is brake fluid. Sounds like it is more like the line from the master to the slave, or look at the supply line from the reservoir down to the master...it might only be partially attached.
Houdini your way under the knee bolster and look to see if the seal on the firewall is leaking into the cabin. That about covers the possible leak paths I believe. It is all confined to the drivers side of the car except the slave.
