From information I received from the Saab Museum back in 2000/01 when I was researching my 1986 CV:
379 total built
350 in silver (all for the USA - one per dealer)
205 of them had the 5-speed
Production by month:
January 1986: 6
February 1986: 5
March 1986: 14
April 1986: 57
May 1986: 137
June 1986: 116
July 1986: 44
After July, they were building the 1987s...
Of note, the "red" one in the Saab Museum in Trollhättan wears a 1986 VIN, but has the 1987 body changes.
Saab USA had one, presumably part of the GM Heritage Collection (Hmmm... Does that go to Spyker now? If so, they got a HELL of a deal...) now.
The other 29 that didn't come here were used by Saab executives, etc in Europe. Possibly some of them also got crash tested, I'm not sure.
The one that I owned was # 207, born May 28, 1986 in Uusikaupinki, Finland. In-service (sold) on August 27, 1986. I bought it on September 7, 2000, and sold it on September 7, 2007...
