thats a tun of work, you ever figure out what your bad brake behavior was? sure would like to know, and as for the 92 motor its what im looking to do when my current motor pops but.. id stay with the Garrett. running the mitsu you notice any lag in boost running from 60 to 120, i had always thought the mitsu had a smaller spool up than the t3 making it awesome for 0 to 60, its the main reason im not in the market for a mitsu im looking for the top end boost.
fyi, the dash-pot is vital if the motor is running a.c. and the driver puts the motor under a heavy boost then totally takes their foot off the throttle immediately after or while boosting. the rmps will plummet past 900,500, and stall the motor while rolling. earlier motors required them don't know how the post motors handle the sudden drop or what saab did to void out the dashpot.
about the ground wires your talking about, i had thought that perhaps i had very low power and maybe its a charging issue.
pointing to the boosting while it was acting up, it seemed like there was water in the fuel, the symptom resembled the same as if there was a dead battery with the ground wire off the alternator. leaving the motor starve for juice. it was a day of stop an go traffic and of course i had the after market stereo rumbling away (the pick gives a little idea of the current flow to the stereo, the current im using for the stereo dims the headlights while driving on hwy with every bass hit, i need to install a farad cap)
just pondering here,... dose the motor or can the car detect low energy from the battery (alt) and put the car in a high idle? and if the wires at the front of the motor are corded could it leave a low charge to the battery from the alt? i had grabbed them wires while trying to find the issue.
i did leave the motor idle with the stereo off while trying to figure out where the problem was, after going across the points of interest i hoped in the car and jumped on the hwy, where it preformed flawless and it been fine ever since.
ill pull them wires and check them out 2morrow. make sure to let me know what caused the brake problem you had.
