Having not overseen the original caliper replacement, I'd take the time to properly bleed all four corners to be sure. The procedure varies by year, but I think yours is of the diagonal-cross-linked era (right front and left rear are on one circuit). You should be able to find the correct bleed order by searching the board. I think it starts passenger rear, driver front, driver rear, passenger front. The idea is you bleed the longest line first.
Also, if the master is bad, it wouldn't be totally surprising to learn its pulled some air into the system. If bleeding removes air, I would expect it firms the pedal immediately, but symptoms return with time.
Bench bleeding is always recommended for a brand new master, its not a big deal to do. The idea is you have most of the air out of it before you even start trying to bleed it in the car. It drastically reduces the time it takes to get the air out compared to a completely dry master cyl.
