as I posted earlier - you need to trace all the ground connections and unfortunately it isn't easy - you may have to pull up carpet - consider a simpler route which is to just bypass console switch and go for door opening lights on only
first make sure you have constant power - yellow wire at your trunk light, rear interior light and front map light
second make sure ground connections are also functional at all three points plus switch and console (ground connection at ignition, plus all four doors
make sure you have delay relay properly connected or by pass it (don't remove )
you can bypass it by running blue wire directly to ignition connections -Bentley wiring diagram shows you how
consider that you can always get lights on with door switch if you bypass console switch since other major grounds are in and behind dash and difficult to find - just splice console switch wire together to remove it from the equation.
I had the identical problem as yours and ended being satisfied with just lights on with door opening. I can only turn on lights from rear interior light or when door is open.
