First a little background... Last summer I was drving to maine with some buddies, when traffic ahead came to a sudden stop, I firmly applied my brakes the car, shot across 3 lanes of traffic, then back across, then did a 180 and we came to a stop facing the wrong way on the highway. The brakes caused the car to do that.... I didnt know what it was, but I got home, put on 2 front calipers and new pads as they were due to be done anyways. oh, and I had a broken ABS sensor wire.
Flash forward to today... the same thing happpened to me about 15 minutes ago, I quickly stepped on my brakes, the car shot to the side, I corrected it this time and was able to stay in my lane. What is causing this?? all other braking is normal, its only at highway speed and when I quickly apply the brakes that it happens. It was terrifing and I need to fix whatever is wrong this weekend. I had planned on replacing the abs wire Saturday, what else am I going to need to replace?? Has anyone had this problem?? thanks for the help!
