Thanks,
so to better explain the second photo (both really), I'm holding the trim piece with the inside (backside) facing out next to the B pillar itself. The rectangular opening in the silver is a cutout in the metal with what looks like cardboard backing behind it. No post or tab. If you look at the B pillar, there is a thin round black metal "washer" and an anchor that pokes through the "washer" - you can see the 2 tabs of the back of the anchor, and I think these are supposed to fit into the metal rectangular hole. I've tried squeezing the tabs together to pull the anchor out - definitely not easy! maybe there is a trick?
I think the upper 2 holes are easy. Once the bottom goes together, just line up + stick in the plastic anchors. The bottom seems tricky - looks like it has to slide downwards into a slot at the bottom as well as get this clip. I suspect the scratch is from the original installation? As you say, that would make some sense. I was hoping the clip might be unnecessary, but for some reason it seems to need the clip to keep it slotted at the bottom?
I will continue to play with this. Any tips or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!
James...
